James Tyler
Airframe/Powerplant Mechanic/Inspection Authorization

My life in aviation began in a way of luck in the spring of 2013. I was always mechanically inclined and lived for motor works and machines since I was young. I had a certain family friend who worked at an fbo called Lumanair that had caught on to my workings in my garage and constantly fixing anything I could find. He recommended me to come visit the shop and meet all of his coworkers and assured me that if I applied for the job I would fit right in. So at the age of 19 I built up some courage and went in for an interview, after the manager found out I knew nothing about aircraft, I followed up with letting him know that I was aware that this was all new to me, but I gave him my word that if he hired me, that I would not quit and I would not let him down. So as it goes, I am now 31 years old and I have been working in that same exact shop now for 11 years. I am now a rated A&P mechanic and going for my IA exams momentarily. I have learned from some of the most knowledgeable people in the field and would never go back to change that, these past 11 years in this field with my piers and the vast knowledge i have gained through these experiences has truly built me into the man that I am today.

Ryan Ficaro
Apprentice

Ryan has been attending Lewis University as a Maintenance major since 2024. Before this he has taken multiple welding courses over the years. Ryan has always been interested in planes since a young age when discovering aircraft simulation videogames. He has taken a discovery flight which grew his passion for aviation and working at a previous job as a small engines technician influenced his passion to become an aviation mechanic. Ryan has also worked on motorcycles for a couple years now restoring a 1979 as well as a 1995 from a non working condition. Over the years his experiences in mechanical based trades has really pushed him to have the benefit of both his dreams, planes and working with his hands.
